Pakistan and Oman are set to sign an agreement allowing visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on October 14, 2026.
Dar made the announcement during a joint media briefing with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi in Islamabad after the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission concluded. Both countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in several areas, including trade, investment, energy, agriculture and technology.
The proposed visa exemption will apply to eligible diplomatic and official passport holders. It will not automatically allow ordinary passport holders to travel between the two countries without visas.
The meeting also focused on improving business links, increasing investment and creating more opportunities for Pakistani workers in Oman. Both sides agreed to establish joint working groups to support cooperation in trade, agriculture, oil and gas, and labour development.
The two countries also plan to hold a business investment forum in Pakistan to encourage stronger commercial ties.
The agreement is part of wider efforts to strengthen relations between Pakistan and Oman.
