Rain Likely Across Most Districts of Punjab in Next 24 Hours

Widespread rain is expected to continue across most districts of Punjab over the next 24 hours, as the sixth spell of the monsoon season carries on until August 7, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Authorities are on high alert to respond to any emergency situations. The River Indus is currently experiencing a low-level flood, while other rivers are flowing normally. Tarbela Dam has reached 95% of its capacity, and Mangla Dam is 62% full. So far, the heavy rains and related incidents during this monsoon season have sadly claimed 164 lives.

The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has issued a flood warning for the River Sutlej, where water discharge levels have risen significantly in a short time. People living near rivers and in low-lying or flood-prone areas are strongly advised to remain cautious, stay updated through official sources, and follow any safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Rainfall continues to affect upper and central parts of Pakistan, increasing the risk of flash floods and waterlogging. Authorities are urging citizens to take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety and the safety of their families.
