The Punjab government has introduced a new scholarship program that promises to cover the full tuition fees of eligible undergraduate students. The initiative aims to make higher education more accessible and reduce the financial burden on talented students from low- and middle-income families.
The program is open to applicants from all districts of Punjab, with no restrictions on age or gender. Candidates must hold a Punjab domicile and be enrolled in the first semester of selected disciplines at recognized universities and colleges in 2025. Students already admitted to MBBS and BDS programs this year are also eligible.
Income-Based Eligibility
The scholarship targets students whose families earn below a certain monthly income threshold. For those enrolled in public sector institutions, the family income must not exceed Rs. 350,000. For students in federal or private sector institutions, the limit is Rs. 500,000. Applicants will need to submit an affidavit as proof of income.
Merit Requirements
Selection will be made purely on merit, with minimum academic performance criteria depending on the field of study and institution type. Marks from both matriculation and intermediate exams will be considered, with a 30% and 70% weightage respectively.
Comprehensive Financial Support
Successful candidates will have their entire tuition fees covered under the program. This support is expected to help deserving students focus on their studies without worrying about financial constraints.
How to Apply
Applications can be submitted online through the official scholarship portal. For guidance, students can contact the help desk via phone, WhatsApp, or email during working hours.
This move reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to investing in human capital and ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent bright minds from achieving their academic potential.
