The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has detained 100 people, including 17 foreign nationals, during a raid on an alleged illegal call centre in Islamabad. The operation was carried out on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, as authorities continue action against suspected cybercrime and illegal call centre activities.
According to the NCCIA, investigators found an “unethical application” being operated at the premises. They also recovered evidence linked to financial schemes involving India and Brazil. However, the agency has not yet shared detailed information about the applications or the alleged financial activities.
The NCCIA sealed the premises after the raid and took computers, electronic devices and other data into custody. The material will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not disclosed the nationalities of the 17 foreign nationals or announced specific charges against those detained. The agency said its nationwide crackdown against illegal call centres and suspected online financial scams will continue.
