Pak Army Steps in to Help Draining Rainwater from Ghareebabad Underpass in Karachi

Heavy rains once again caused major problems in Karachi, as several low-lying areas were submerged in water. The downpour brought traffic to a halt and forced many businesses to shut down, leaving daily life badly disrupted.

To deal with the situation, the Pakistan Army stepped forward to help the city administration. Special focus was given to the Ghareebabad Underpass, which was among the worst affected areas. An engineering team from Corps V was sent to the site with heavy pumping machines and boats to remove the large amount of water that had gathered.

Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Subhan stated that the district administration, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, and the Pakistan Army were working together to clear the flooded spots. He assured citizens that their combined efforts would likely restore normal conditions in District Central by the evening.

Residents of the affected neighborhoods appreciated this joint operation, saying that such teamwork between civil authorities and the Army gives them confidence during difficult times. Many people expressed relief that action was being taken quickly and hoped that daily life in Karachi would return to normal soon.

Incidents like these highlight the importance of strong coordination between government departments, city services, and the armed forces in dealing with emergencies caused by extreme weather.
