CM Maryam announces train, bus projects for Murree

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that the new Green Line bus service will be free of cost for students, elderly citizens, and women. She made the announcement while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Samli, Murree.

The Chief Minister said the cardiology centre was completed in a short time and had already started operations, with five angiographies performed on the first day. She added that cardiac surgeries will also begin in the coming days. The facility will not only serve the people of Murree but also provide treatment to residents of nearby areas, including Galiyat.

Maryam Nawaz also revealed several development projects for Murree. She said schools are being upgraded, a major water supply project is underway, and a sanitation scheme has been launched to improve cleanliness in the city under the “Suthra Punjab” programme. She announced that a modern hospital will be built in Bhurban, and the local administration has been directed to run three buses for the Samli Hospital.

In terms of tourism, the Chief Minister said a special tourism force has been created to strengthen Murree’s reputation as a global tourist destination. She highlighted that roads and the expressway have already been built to make travel easier for millions of visitors each year.

Maryam Nawaz further announced that 15 new buses have been ordered for Murree and that a train service will also be launched soon, reducing the need for tourists to bring private vehicles.

The inauguration of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre and the launch of these new initiatives mark a major step in improving healthcare, infrastructure, and tourism in Murree.
