Rainfall Predicted Across Pakistan Starting Tonight, MET Office

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that a fresh spell of rainfall will begin across the country starting tonight. According to the forecast, rain, thunderstorms, and windstorms are likely to affect most parts of Pakistan in the coming days.

The system bringing this change in weather has developed from the Gulf of Kutch, while humid winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are also making their way into the region. Together, these factors are expected to cause widespread showers in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

The Met Office has issued a warning that heavy rainfall and possibly hailstorms might hit numerous places during the first week of October. It is impossible to completely ignore the possibility of flash floods in valleys and urban flooding in nearby towns under such circumstances.

Residents, particularly those residing in areas at risk of flooding, have been advised by authorities to take necessary precautions. Additionally, drivers have been cautioned that rain may result in traffic jams and delays on highways.

This rain can bring opportunities as well as difficulties for farmers. The showers might help certain crops, but in some places, standing crops could be harmed by continuously high rainfall. Additionally, local officials are prepared to handle all possible situations.

The arrival of rain, indicated at the start of October, may provide a necessary relief from the continuous heat, but it also demands safety precautions to prevent mishaps and damage.
