Pakistan, Afghanistan 48-Hour Ceasefire Extended

The temporary ce@sefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been extended for another 48 hours following a series of intense border cl@shes earlier this week. The violence had reportedly left 23 Pakistani troops m@rtyred and over 200 Ta@liban fig_hters de@d.

Officials confirmed that the truce, which was initially requested by Kabul, will now continue until peace talks in Doha conclude. Both sides have agreed to maintain calm along the border to allow space for dialogue and humanitarian efforts.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office reaffirmed the country’s commitment to resolving tensions through diplomatic channels rather than continued conf!ict. It emphasized that peace and stability along the frontier are vital for regional security and mutual progress.

Sources say international mediators are also involved in facilitating discussions, urging both nations to prioritize restraint and cooperation. Residents near the border have welcomed the pause, hoping it leads to a more lasting peace.

While the situation remains tense, officials from both governments are expressing cautious optimism that the ceasefire could pave the way for broader understanding and reduced hostilities in the future.
