Pakistan’s President and PM Extend Warm Greetings to Hindu Community on Diwali

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended warm greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world on the joyful occasion of Diwali.

In his message, President Zardari said that Diwali is a festival that celebrates the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. He said the occasion reminds people to spread love, peace, and unity among all communities. The president also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to religious freedom and equal rights for all citizens, as guaranteed by the Constitution. He recalled Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision of a nation where minorities have equal opportunities and complete freedom to practice their faith.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also sent his best wishes to the Hindu community, saying that Diwali is a time to share happiness and strengthen the spirit of togetherness. He assured that the government remains dedicated to protecting the rights of all communities and ensuring their social, cultural, and economic development.

Across Pakistan, the Hindu community is celebrating Diwali with colorful lights, decorated temples, prayers, and family gatherings. People are lighting diyas (oil lamps), exchanging sweets, and praying for peace and prosperity in the country.

Both leaders expressed hope that the message of Diwali will inspire all citizens to work together for a peaceful, united, and prosperous Pakistan where every community can live with respect and harmony.
