Pakistan made history by hosting its first-ever international Quran recitation competition, bringing together talented reciters from 37 countries. The prestigious event concluded with Malaysia’s representative taking the top prize.
Qari Aiman Rizwan bin Muhammad Ramlan from Malaysia won first place, followed by Iran’s Qari Adnan in second position, and Pakistan’s Qari Abdul Rasheed in third place. The competition showcased the beautiful art of Quranic recitation on a global stage.
The event was held at Islamabad’s Convention Centre and began with a soulful recitation by renowned Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf welcomed the international participants, expressing pride in hosting Qaris from across the Muslim world.
The winners received generous cash prizes for their exceptional talent. The first-place winner received Rs 5 million, the second-place Rs 3 million, and the third-place winner Rs 2 million. An Afghan participant secured fourth place, while contestants from Indonesia and Morocco placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said the competition reflected Pakistan’s commitment to promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah and emphasized the importance of connecting youth with the Holy Quran. He noted that Pakistan was established in the name of the Kalima, making such religious events particularly meaningful for the nation.
