Pakistan Exports Seafood Worth $173.7 Million in Just Five Months

Pakistan’s seafood industry has shown impressive growth in the first five months of the current financial year. Between July and November 2025, the country exported over 75,766 metric tons of fish and fish products worth $173.750 million, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data.

This represents a solid increase of 7.03% compared to the same period last year, when exports stood at $162.334 million. The steady growth shows that international demand for Pakistani seafood remains strong, helping boost the country’s export earnings.

The positive trend isn’t limited to seafood alone. Meat and meat products exports also increased by 7.12% during this period, with about 47,990 metric tons worth $215.944 million being shipped overseas. This was higher than last year’s exports of $201.586 million.

Fresh fruit exports added another bright spot to Pakistan’s food sector performance. The country earned $149.915 million by exporting 240,297 metric tons of fresh fruits, showing significant growth compared to the previous year’s $132.577 million.

However, not all food exports performed well. Rice exports, which are traditionally one of Pakistan’s major export items, saw a sharp decline during the same five-month period.

Pakistan’s long Arabian Sea coastline stretches over 1,000 kilometers and provides access to various fish species, including shrimp, tuna, mackerel, and crab. This natural advantage positions the country well to further expand its seafood exports in the coming years.
