Dr Faiqa Noor Khan, the daughter of former Pakistan Air Force chief Air Marshal Noor Khan, has passed away in a tragic road accident in the United States. The incident has caused deep sorrow among her family, colleagues, and the medical community in both Pakistan and the US.
According to US media reports, the accident took place over the weekend in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. Local authorities confirmed that Dr Faiqa, a well-known pediatrician in the area, was involved in a serious traffic accident while driving her car. Police officials stated that her vehicle went off the road, collided, and caught fire. Sadly, she lost her life at the scene.
Dr Faiqa was 75 years old and had a long and respected medical career. She joined the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in 1993, where she served with dedication for many years.
Over time, she rose to the position of Medical Director of the hospital’s Emergency Department, earning recognition for her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to children’s healthcare.
Her passing has been widely mourned by colleagues who remembered her as a compassionate doctor and a strong mentor for younger medical professionals. Many described her as someone who devoted her life to patient care and medical service.
In Pakistan, King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Lahore also expressed deep grief over her death. The university shared that Dr Faiqa was an alumna of KEMU and had graduated in 1973. Faculty members and alumni paid tribute to her achievements and remembered her as a source of pride for the institution.
