Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has earned a place on the famous Lord’s Honours Board after taking five wickets in an innings against England in the second Test. The achievement came on August 30, during Pakistan’s heavy defeat at the historic London ground.
Abbas finished England’s second innings with 5 wickets for 57 runs, helping dismiss England for 208. His wickets included England batter Ollie Robinson, who had troubled Pakistan throughout the match.
The five wicket haul was Abbas’ eighth in Test cricket, further highlighting his consistency as one of Pakistan’s experienced Test bowlers. His performance also helped him become the eighth Pakistani bowler to have his name added to the Lord’s Honours Board.
The Lord’s Honours Board recognises players who score centuries or take five wickets in a Test innings at the ground. Abbas has now joined a select group of Pakistani bowlers legendary Pakistan bowlers such as Fazal Mahmood, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Yasir Shah.
His personal achievement came despite Pakistan losing the Test by 194 runs and falling 2-0 behind in the series.
