Punjab Motorway Closed Due to Heavy Fog Alert

Dense fog has spread across many districts of Punjab, badly affecting visibility and daily movement. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a three-day warning, saying that heavy fog will continue to affect large parts of the province.

Because of the dangerous weather conditions, several motorway sections have been closed to ensure public safety. According to a Motorways spokesperson, the M-2 motorway has been shut between Lahore and Islamabad. The M-3 motorway is also closed from Lahore to Multan.

In addition, traffic has been stopped on the M-4 motorway from Faisalabad to Multan and on the M-5 motorway from Multan to Zahir Pir. The M-11 motorway, which connects Lahore with Sialkot, has also been closed due to extremely low visibility.

The NDMA has warned that dense fog will mainly impact South and Central Punjab over the next three days. Areas expected to be affected include Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran, and Vehari. Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, drive carefully if needed, and stay updated with official announcements until weather conditions improve.
