According to Suparco, people across Pakistan will be able to witness the first supermoon of 2026 on the nights of January 3 and 4, when the Wolf Moon lights up the sky.
A supermoon occurs when the full moon is at its closest distance to Earth. Because of this, the moon appears larger and brighter than it usually does, creating a beautiful and clear view in the night sky.
The moon is expected to rise at around 5:51 pm on January 3 and will remain visible throughout both nights. Skywatchers will get the best view during moonrise and moonset, when the moon appears especially large near the horizon.
This celestial event will be even more exciting as it will happen at the same time as the Quadrantids meteor shower, giving people a chance to enjoy shooting stars along with the glowing full moon.
