Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shehzad became emotional during a live television program after he was not selected for the 11th season of the PSL.
Shehzad appeared on the show alongside fast bowler Mohammad Amir. During the discussion, he was asked about not being picked in the PSL draft.
While responding, he shared his feelings openly and admitted that the decision had deeply disappointed him. He said that although he feels happy for other players who were selected, it is painful for him personally to miss out.
Shehzad explained that the most difficult part of the situation is how it affects his nine-year-old son. He said his son loves watching him play cricket and always looks forward to seeing him on the field. Not being selected means his son will not be able to watch him play in the upcoming season.
Struggling to hold back tears, Shehzad revealed that his son tries to comfort him at night. He shared that his son tells him he remembers watching his father play and will always remember those moments. These words, Shehzad said, give him strength but also make the situation more emotional.
The cricketer added that he has worked hard throughout his career and still believes in his abilities. Despite the setback, he said he will continue to train and stay prepared for future opportunities.
The emotional moment touched many viewers, as Shehzad’s honest reaction showed the personal side of professional sports. For him, cricket is not just a career, but also a connection with his family and especially his son.
