Japan Wants to Create 1 Lac Jobs in Pakistan with Mega Auto Investment

Japan has announced plans to help create more than 100,000 jobs in Pakistan through increased investment in the automotive sector. The announcement was made during the Japan–Pakistan Business Seminar 2026 held in Islamabad.

The move is expected to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries and support growth in Pakistan’s auto industry.

Under this initiative, Japanese companies will expand vehicle assembly operations in Pakistan. The plan also aims to increase the localisation of auto parts by up to 60 percent.

This means that more car parts will be produced within Pakistan instead of being imported. As a result, local industries and suppliers will benefit, and new job opportunities will be created across different sectors.

The initiative will also focus on vendor development. Local manufacturers and small businesses will receive support to improve their production standards and become part of the automotive supply chain. This step is expected to raise the quality of locally made products and make them more competitive.

Japanese automakers plan to introduce advanced manufacturing methods such as Kaizen and 5S. Kaizen focuses on continuous improvement in production processes, while 5S promotes better workplace organization and efficiency. These practices are known for improving productivity and maintaining high-quality standards.

In addition, the investment will promote green and hybrid vehicle technologies in Pakistan. Japanese companies aim to support environmentally friendly transport solutions and reduce carbon emissions.
