The Erasmus Mundus IMSOGLO programme is a fully funded master’s degree focused on soil science and global environmental change. It is part of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degrees, a European Union-funded study programme that gives students from around the world a chance to earn a top‑level degree while living and studying in different European countries.
What the Programme Offers
The IMSOGLO Master’s is a two‑year (120 ECTS) joint Master of Science in Soils and Global Change. Students study soil science in the context of climate change, land use, and ecosystem health. The curriculum covers soil chemistry, biology, physics, and sustainable land management, preparing graduates to work on real environmental challenges.
The degree is awarded jointly by four European universities in Belgium, Austria, Germany, and Denmark.
Full Scholarship Coverage
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship fully covers tuition and gives a monthly stipend of €1,400 to help with living costs for up to 24 months.
Scholarship holders are also exempt from programme participation fees and receive support for travel, visa, and insurance expenses. Extra financial help is available for students with special needs.
Eligibility and How to Apply
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in environmental science, biology, geology, agricultural science, or related fields.
- Have completed sufficient coursework in natural sciences such as chemistry, physics, and ecology.
- Provide proof of English language proficiency.
- Open to students of all nationalities.
The application opens in October 2025, and the deadline for scholarship applications is 28 February 2026. Selection is based on academic merit, motivation, and relevant experience. Results are usually announced by April 2026, and the programme starts in September 2026.
