The government has announced special relief steps to make sure people receive smooth gas and electricity supply during the holy month of Ramazan. These measures are aimed at reducing difficulties for citizens, especially during Sehri and Iftar when energy demand increases in homes across the country.
Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said that gas will be available daily from 3:00 am to 10:30 pm. He explained that gas pressure will be increased during Sehri and Iftar times so families can cook meals without facing low pressure issues. He added that these arrangements have been made on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide maximum relief to the public during Ramazan.
The supply plan was finalized after detailed meetings with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company. Officials reviewed demand patterns and worked out a schedule to avoid shortages. In Karachi, gas may be provided during limited hours to better manage high demand, while some areas of Punjab are expected to receive longer supply hours.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Assembly has also called for uninterrupted gas and electricity supply throughout Ramazan. Senior provincial leader Sharjeel Inam Memon supported the demand, stressing that citizens should not face additional hardships during the holy month. Authorities say they will continue monitoring the situation closely to ensure stable energy supply across the country.
