Karachi, Punjab on High Alert as Pakistan Launches Retaliatory Strikes Against Afghan Tal_iban

Security has been placed on high alert in Punjab and Karachi after Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab Lil Haq in response to what officials described as unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces near the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.

Authorities have taken precautionary measures to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.

Following the development, Punjab Police, under the direction of Inspector General Rao Abdul Kareem, increased surveillance across major cities and sensitive areas.

Special security arrangements have been made, particularly during Friday prayers, with additional police personnel deployed at mosques and crowded public places.

In Karachi, local authorities have also strengthened security measures. Snap-checking points have been set up on important roads while law enforcement agencies have introduced temporary road blockades in selected areas to monitor movement and prevent any potential security threats. Officials stated that these steps are purely precautionary and aimed at protecting citizens.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif described the situation as an “open war,” accusing Afghan Taliban forces of acting as a proxy for India. His statement has intensified political and public discussion surrounding the rising tensions along the border.

Security agencies across the country remain on alert and are closely monitoring the situation. Citizens have been advised to stay calm, cooperate with law enforcement personnel and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Authorities emphasized that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain peace, stability, and national security during this sensitive period.
