Punjab Employees to Receive Advance Salary before Eid-ul-Fitr

The Government of Punjab has decided to release salaries and pensions in advance before Eid al-Fitr to support public sector employees during the festive season.

The move was approved by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as part of efforts to provide financial ease to workers and retirees.

According to an official notification, salaries for the month of March will be paid on March 16 instead of the usual end of the month schedule.

The same arrangement will apply to pension payments. The early disbursement will benefit thousands of government employees and pensioners across the province.

Officials said the decision was taken to help families manage Eid related expenses, including shopping, travel, and household needs. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is one of the most important religious occasions in Pakistan. Many people spend extra money on clothes, gifts, and food during this time.

Government departments have been instructed to complete all necessary procedures to ensure the timely transfer of funds. Banks are also expected to process payments without delay so that employees can access their salaries before the holiday begins.

In previous years, provincial and federal governments have taken similar steps to release salaries early ahead of major religious festivals.
