Authorities have announced that traffic challans will not be issued to motorcycles and rickshaws until Eid-ul-Fitr, providing temporary relief to commuters amid the ongoing petrol crisis. The decision is aimed at easing the financial burden on daily wage earners, delivery riders, and small transport operators who rely heavily on bikes and rickshaws for their livelihoods during a time of rising fuel costs.
Officials stated that the measure is intended to support the public and ensure smoother mobility during the remaining days of Ramadan, when travel activity typically increases. While enforcement authorities will continue to monitor traffic flow and safety, the temporary relief from challans is expected to help thousands of riders manage expenses until Eid celebrations begin.
