“PSL Feels Incomplete Without Fans”, PSL Franchise Owners Urge PM to Allow Fans in Stadiums

Franchise owners of the Pakistan Super League have urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to allow fans back into stadiums, saying the tournament feels incomplete without live crowds. The request comes as PSL 11 matches are currently being played behind closed doors in Karachi and Lahore.

The decision to restrict spectators was taken due to austerity measures linked to the global fuel crisis. Authorities aimed to reduce energy use and operational costs by limiting large gatherings. However, franchise owners believe this has affected the overall excitement and atmosphere of the league.

Key team owners, including Atif Rana and Salman Iqbal, have highlighted the importance of fan presence. They said that cricket in Pakistan has always been driven by passionate supporters, and empty stadiums take away the true spirit of the game.

The Pakistan Super League is considered the country’s premier cricket event, attracting local and international players every year. Fans not only create an energetic environment but also contribute to the league’s commercial success through ticket sales and sponsorship visibility.

Franchise owners are hopeful that the government will review the situation and allow limited crowds with proper safety measures, so the remaining matches can regain their usual excitement and connection with fans.
