Fakhar Zaman Suspended for Two PSL 11 Matches

Pakistan cricketer Fakhar Zaman has been suspended for two matches in the ongoing Pakistan Super League Season 11 after being found guilty of ball tampering during a recent match.

The incident occurred during a game between the Lahore Qalandars and the Karachi Kings. It happened in the final over of Karachi’s run chase, when Fakhar Zaman, along with teammates, was seen passing the ball between them.

Umpires noticed a possible change in the condition of the ball and immediately intervened. They awarded five penalty runs to Karachi Kings and ordered the ball to be replaced.

This penalty proved costly, as Karachi Kings went on to win the match by four wickets. The situation raised serious concerns about fair play and prompted a formal investigation by the match officials.

Fakhar Zaman denied the allegations during the disciplinary hearing. However, match referee Roshan Mahanama upheld the charge, calling it a Level III offence under the rules. As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board imposed a two-match ban, which is the maximum penalty for this type of violation.

The case has added to ongoing controversies in PSL 11, where several disciplinary issues have already been reported. Experts say such incidents can affect the image of the league and highlight the need for strict enforcement of rules.

Fakhar Zaman will now miss two important matches, which could impact his team’s performance in the tournament.
