Pakistan Launches E-Passport Service in Jeddah

The Pakistan Consulate General in Jeddah has started offering e-passport services for Pakistanis living abroad. This new service provides modern passports with advanced security features and faster processing, making travel safer and more convenient.

The e-passport system uses the latest technology to protect personal information. It includes biometric verification, which records fingerprints and facial data, laser-printed information for accuracy, and a microchip embedded in the passport. These features help prevent forgery, identity theft, and misuse of personal data.

Officials at the consulate said the e-passport is designed to meet international standards. This means it will be accepted around the world and will make immigration and border procedures quicker and smoother. Travelers can now move through airports and international checkpoints more efficiently with their new e-passports.

The launch of e-passport services in Jeddah is part of Pakistan’s broader effort to modernize its passport system and provide better services to citizens living abroad.

Previously, passport applications could take longer, and older passports lacked advanced security features. With the new system, Pakistanis abroad can now apply for passports with confidence, knowing that their personal information is well protected and the process is streamlined.

This service is especially useful for overseas Pakistanis who travel frequently for work, education, or family reasons. By offering e-passports directly at the consulate, the government aims to make it easier for citizens to access important travel documents without having to travel long distances or face unnecessary delays.
