Building on this momentum, the company now appears to be preparing its next major move with the Changan UNI-S, recently spotted online in leaked images.
These early glimpses offer insight into what could be a significant addition to Pakistan’s C-SUV segment. With its premium design and strong road presence, the UNI-S appears ready to make an impact. Early indications suggest that the model could be introduced across multiple powertrains, including Hybrid, ICE, and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), reflecting a flexible approach to evolving customer needs.
Adding to this, recent global updates from Changan have highlighted the debut of its Blue Core Super Hybrid Technology, an advanced system focused on delivering high efficiency in real-world conditions. Industry signals suggest that the UNI-S could feature this very hybrid and plug-in hybrid system, bringing globally showcased technology to local roads. With reported fuel efficiency figures in the range of approximately 25–28 km per litre, the vehicle is expected to translate this into highly competitive per-kilometre running costs, making it particularly appealing for daily urban use.
At the heart of this system is the iDE-H (Intelligent Deep Electrification Hybrid Architecture), featuring a P1 + P3 dual-motor setup. It enables electric-first driving in urban conditions, uses the engine as a generator when needed, and seamlessly transitions to direct or parallel drive at higher speeds. The system also supports efficient energy recovery during coasting, further enhancing overall efficiency.
