Pakistan has deployed fighter jets and military personnel to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defence agreement signed in 2025. The move aims to strengthen security cooperation and reinforce the long-standing strategic partnership between the two nations.
According to the Saudi defence ministry, the aircraft arrived at King Abdulaziz Air Base. The deployment is intended to enhance regional stability at a time of rising tensions in the Middle East. Officials stated that the presence of Pakistani forces will support joint training, improve defence readiness, and contribute to the protection of key installations.
The decision follows recent attacks targeting critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which have raised security concerns across the Gulf region. By working together, both countries aim to strengthen their defensive capabilities and ensure the safety of strategic assets.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share decades of close diplomatic, military, and economic ties. Pakistan has historically supported the Kingdom’s defence needs through training programs and military cooperation. In return, Saudi Arabia has provided financial assistance, investments, and energy support to help Pakistan manage economic challenges.
