“No More Tolerance on Anti-State Tweets & Messages, We Are Watching Every Click on Your Phone”: NCCIA

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has warned social media users that online posts and messages could lead to legal action if they violate Pakistan’s laws.

Additional Director Atif Ameer issued the warning during a press briefing, saying the agency’s cyber patrolling unit monitors social media platforms to identify suspected offences. He said its main priorities include content described as anti-state, online harassment, attacks on people’s reputations and the targeting of women.

Ameer also highlighted the agency’s focus on illegal call centres suspected of involvement in online fraud and other cybercrimes. Recent operations in Lahore have led to hundreds of arrests linked to alleged fraud, harassment and honey-trapping activities.

The NCCIA investigates complaints involving digital crimes, including online blackmail, harassment and the misuse of private information. Its official guidance encourages users to protect personal details and report online abuse.
