The German Embassy in Islamabad has temporarily suspended its visa services due to road closures and heightened security arrangements in the capital, linked to upcoming diplomatic engagements involving the United States and Iran. These precautionary measures come as authorities implement strict security protocols across Islamabad to ensure the smooth conduct of high-level discussions.
German Ambassador Ina Lepel confirmed that the embassy’s visa section will remain closed from April 20 to April 21, 2026. Applicants have been advised not to visit the embassy during this period, as all scheduled appointments will be automatically rescheduled. Officials also stated that affected individuals will be informed about their new appointment dates once operations resume.
The temporary suspension reflects the broader security situation in the city, where movement in certain areas is expected to remain restricted. While a confirmed date for the full reopening of visa services has not yet been announced, the embassy has assured applicants that updates regarding revised schedules will be communicated in due course to minimize inconvenience.
