Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked Donald Trump for agreeing to extend the ceasefire, saying the decision will support ongoing diplomatic efforts. He said this step will give more time for dialogue and help reduce tensions in the region.
In a message shared on social media platform X, the prime minister expressed his appreciation on his own behalf and on behalf of Asim Munir. He said the extension of the ceasefire is an important opportunity for all sides to continue discussions and work toward a peaceful solution.
Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability. He said the country remains committed to supporting dialogue between the United States and Iran, especially during this sensitive time.
He added that Pakistan believes in resolving conflicts through negotiations rather than confrontation. According to him, continued engagement and communication are necessary to reach a long-term agreement that benefits all parties involved.
