MG Launches All-New MG HS in Pakistan, Introducing Hybrid+ and Super Hybrid Variants

Lahore, Pakistan — April 24, 2026 — MG Motor Pakistan has officially unveiled its newest model, the All-New MG HS, at its Lahore facility, introducing two new variants to Pakistan’s rapidly evolving New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market. The launch marks MG’s first major advancement in design and technology since its entry into the country.

“We are very excited to bring more options and innovation to Pakistan. Since 2020, we have been at the forefront of driving the NEV transition in Pakistan, and with the launch of this new model, we aim to take that momentum even further,” said CEO Jianqiang Shao.

Featuring a redesigned exterior and a modernised interior, the All-New MG HS introduces a new generation of technological innovation across both variants. The HS Hybrid+ redefines the conventional hybrid experience, with an electric motor that is 40% more powerful than its petrol engine, delivering a smoother, EV-like acceleration and driving experience. The Super Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), offers up to 135 km of electric-only range, making a primarily battery-powered driving lifestyle increasingly practical in urban centres. The introductory price for the MG HS Hybrid+ is PKR 9,499,000, while it is PKR 10,199,000 for the Super Hybrid variant.

Speaking at the event, Faisal Afridi, Chairman of MG Automotive Pakistan/JW-SEZ Group, said, “This is just the beginning. In partnership with SAIC, we plan to bring new models to Pakistan, ranging from hatchbacks to sedans. Our Lahore facility has the capacity to expand production, and we aim to begin exports in the near future. Our goal is to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s economy, with the long-term ambition of being recognised as a company that has significantly supported the country’s GDP growth.”

Since helping establish the modern NEV segment in Pakistan, MG Motor has contributed to shaping a market that has since attracted several global entrants. This growing competition reflects both rising consumer interest and the expanding potential of electrified mobility in the country.
