SUPARCO has achieved an important milestone with the successful launch of Pakistan’s locally developed Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3). The satellite was launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.
This launch marks a major step forward in the country’s space programme and its ability to observe the Earth more effectively.
The EO-3 satellite is designed to capture high-quality images and support various national needs, including environmental monitoring, urban planning, agriculture, and disaster management.
Officials said the successful launch reflects Pakistan’s growing technical capability in space technology. It also shows progress in developing advanced systems within the country’s space sector.
The EO-3 satellite is expected to improve data collection and help in making better decisions related to land use and natural resource management.
Experts believe that such satellites can play an important role in monitoring climate change, tracking natural disasters, and supporting infrastructure development. The improved imaging technology will also help in mapping remote areas more accurately.
SUPARCO said the achievement is the result of years of research and development work by Pakistani scientists and engineers. They added that the success of EO-3 will contribute to strengthening the country’s space-based services.
The launch is also seen as a positive development for Pakistan’s scientific community, encouraging further investment in space research and technology. Officials expressed hope that future missions will build on this success and expand Pakistan’s capabilities in satellite development.
