The Pakistan Navy extended emergency assistance to six Indian nationals and one Indonesian crew member aboard the merchant vessel MV Gautam after the ship encountered a technical malfunction while en route from Oman to India.
According to details, the vessel experienced operational issues at sea, prompting concerns for the safety of those on board. In response to the situation, India’s Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre (MRCC) based in Mumbai formally requested assistance from Pakistani maritime authorities to help manage the emergency.
Acting swiftly on the request, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency deployed its vessel PNS Kashmir to the reported location to conduct a coordinated rescue operation. The team successfully reached the distressed ship and provided the necessary support to ensure the safety and well-being of all crew members.
The operation highlights a moment of maritime cooperation between the two countries, focusing on humanitarian assistance at sea despite broader political tensions.
