Airblue Successfully Launches Inaugural Lahore-Baku Flight Celebratory Ceremony Held at Lahore Airport

Pakistan’s private airline Airblue has successfully launched its new direct flight route between Lahore and Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The inaugural flight took off on May 2, 2026, from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, marking an important step in improving air connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asia.

A special ceremony was held at Lahore Airport to celebrate the launch. Airline officials cut a cake and distributed gifts to passengers on the first flight. The event highlighted Airblue’s commitment to providing comfortable and reliable international travel options for Pakistani passengers.

The new Lahore–Baku route will operate twice a week. This added service gives travellers more choices alongside existing flights by other airlines. The direct flights are expected to boost tourism, business ties, trade, and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

Baku is becoming a popular destination for Pakistanis due to its modern attractions, business opportunities, and cultural links. Many passengers welcomed the new route as it reduces travel time and makes journeys more convenient and affordable.

Airblue officials said they aim to expand their international network further. This new route strengthens Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and opens new doors for economic cooperation in the region.
