Pakistan Secures First Position in Global IT Competition, Beating 70 Countries

Pakistan has achieved a proud milestone in the field of information technology. The country has won first position in the Cisco EMEA NetAcademy Cup 2026, beating more than 70 countries and over 500 IT academies across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA region).

This victory was secured by the SCO Software Technology Park Mirpur through its Cisco Academy. The competition tests important future skills such as networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and industrial technologies. Pakistan’s top performance shows the high quality of training given to its young students.

Several government and organizational initiatives helped make this success possible. The Special Communications Organization (SCO) has set up more than 100 IT centers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. These centers provide modern training and create opportunities for youth in remote areas. Programs like the Cisco Networking Academy and freelancing hubs have trained thousands of young Pakistanis with globally recognized skills.

Experts believe this win highlights Pakistan’s growing digital strength. It boosts the confidence of young professionals and opens doors for better jobs, freelancing, and innovation. Many young Pakistanis are now earning through remote work for international clients.

This achievement is not just a trophy. It proves that with the right training and opportunities, Pakistani youth can compete and win at the highest global level.
