Anti-Corruption Officer Caught in Corruption; Rs. 1 Lac Br!be Recovered in Faisalabad

In a shocking incident, an officer from the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Faisalabad was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh. The recovery was made during a raid by relevant authorities, exposing deep concerns about honesty inside the department that is supposed to fight corruption.

The official, who was responsible for investigating and preventing corrupt practices, is now under investigation himself. According to reports, the bribe was taken to influence or settle an official matter in favour of a complainant. This embarrassing case has badly damaged the image of the Anti-Corruption Establishment in the region.

Faisalabad has seen several anti-corruption operations recently. In similar cases, the department arrested a personal assistant to the Additional Commissioner for taking Rs. 500,000 and a Civil Defence instructor for extorting Rs. 20,000. However, this time the accused belongs to the anti-graft body, raising serious questions about internal accountability and oversight.

The incident has sparked strong public anger and debate on social media. People are asking how citizens can trust institutions when those tasked with stopping corruption are themselves involved in it. Senior officials have promised a thorough probe and strict action, including possible suspension and legal proceedings under anti-corruption laws.
