Under the Sindh Social Protection Program, the provincial government has announced a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 for children between the ages of zero and five years, with the initiative primarily targeting families living in rural and underprivileged areas. The program is aimed at improving the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of young children during their early developmental years while easing the financial burden on low-income households.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved several major welfare initiatives designed to strengthen the province’s social safety net system and provide greater support to vulnerable communities. The newly approved measures focus on improving maternal and child welfare, expanding financial assistance programs, and ensuring better protection for women and families struggling with economic hardships. Officials say these reforms are intended to create long-term social and economic stability for disadvantaged groups across Sindh.
As part of the broader plan, the government will also launch an Early Childhood Development program expected to benefit around 885,000 children. The initiative will focus on nutrition, healthcare, and early learning support to improve childhood development outcomes across the province. In addition, seasonal financial assistance programs are being introduced for women working in the agricultural sector, many of whom face unstable incomes and harsh working conditions during different farming cycles.
The government has further decided to upgrade and expand the Mamta program, which provides support for mothers and children, with the expanded measures expected to benefit more than one million people. Authorities say the revised system will include a new payment mechanism aimed at ensuring timely and transparent cash disbursement so that financial aid reaches deserving families without delays.
Officials also emphasized that the program has been designed with inclusive policies to ensure that mothers, infants, and young children receive priority support. The broader objective of the reforms is to reduce poverty, improve healthcare access, and provide stronger social protection to vulnerable segments of society throughout Sindh.
