The Director General of ISPR stated during a recent press briefing that the Pakistan Army has no role in political affairs and emphasized that all political disputes should be addressed through dialogue, constitutional mechanisms, and mutual understanding among political parties. He stressed that political stability and national unity are essential for the country’s progress and urged stakeholders to prioritize cooperation over confrontation.
Speaking about regional relations, the DG ISPR described the ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as deep-rooted, historic, and multidimensional. He said the relationship between the two countries extends beyond diplomacy and includes strong cooperation in defense, economy, religion, and regional security. He further remarked that any threat to Saudi Arabia would be viewed as a matter of concern for Pakistan as well, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with Riyadh on issues of mutual interest.
During the briefing, the military spokesperson also discussed Pakistan’s defense preparedness and operational capabilities. Referring to “Operation Haq,” he claimed that Pakistan successfully shot down several Indian aircraft, including Rafale fighter jets, during the conflict. He stated that the operation demonstrated the effectiveness of Pakistan’s defense systems, military strategy, and response capabilities.
The DG ISPR added that Pakistan has developed strong deterrence capabilities over the years and remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any external aggression. He said the armed forces continue to modernize their systems and maintain a high level of operational readiness to counter evolving security challenges in the region.
