PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Unlikely to Attend IPL 2026 Final in India Despite Invitation

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is unlikely to visit India despite reports suggesting that he had been invited to attend the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad and participate in related ICC meetings.

According to sources, Naqvi is expected to join the discussions virtually instead of traveling in person. This means he may take part in important cricket-related meetings online while continuing his responsibilities from Pakistan.

The upcoming ICC meetings include a virtual Chief Executives Committee (CEC) session as well as Board meetings involving cricket officials from different countries. Several important topics are expected to be discussed during these sessions.

The agenda reportedly includes the future growth of women’s cricket, expansion of commercial opportunities, and new strategies related to data monetization in the sport.

These discussions are aimed at improving revenue generation and supporting the long-term development of international cricket.

Sources also indicate that major reforms concerning Test cricket are not expected to be finalized during these meetings. Instead, those discussions are likely to take place at a later stage. Test cricket’s future structure and format remain important topics for cricket administrators worldwide.

The reports come amid public interest surrounding Pakistan’s participation in international cricket events and high-level cricket governance meetings. While speculation about a visit to India gained attention, current information suggests virtual participation is the more likely option.

Officials have not announced any final changes, but online attendance would allow Pakistan’s cricket leadership to remain involved in key ICC decisions without physical travel.

The meetings are expected to play an important role in shaping future policies and commercial strategies in world cricket.
