Balochistan’s City Fixes Petrol Price at Rs.250 Per Liter

The district administration in Hub, Balochistan, has officially fixed the price of Iranian petrol at Rs250 per litre in an effort to control rising fuel prices and protect consumers.

The decision was announced after authorities noticed that some dealers and traders were charging much higher prices for smuggled Iranian fuel across the district.

Deputy Commissioner Jumma Dad Khan Mandokhail said the government had allowed the trade of Iranian petrol to provide relief to the public, not to support profiteering or artificial price hikes. The administration also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in overpricing, hoarding, or creating shortages in the market.

Iranian petrol is commonly sold in many border areas of Balochistan because it is usually cheaper than officially imported fuel in Pakistan. Earlier this year, the provincial government had also fixed the price of Iranian petrol at Rs280 per litre in different parts of Balochistan to reduce pressure on consumers facing high fuel costs.

Officials say monitoring teams will ensure that petrol is sold at the approved rate across the Hub district. The move is expected to provide some relief to transporters, daily commuters, and small businesses already struggling with inflation and increasing living expenses in Pakistan.
