Pakistani Senator Faisal Subzwari was reportedly stopped from travelling to Dubai after facing issues related to documentation and visa clearance at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. According to reports, the senator arrived at the airport at approximately 2:30 PM to board his scheduled flight to the UAE, but was unable to complete the departure process after airline authorities declined to issue his boarding pass.
Sources said airline staff informed him that additional approval, updated travel authorization, or revised clearance documentation was required under the latest UAE travel regulations and entry procedures. Due to the incomplete clearance process, he was reportedly prevented from boarding the flight and later returned from the airport without travelling.
Senator Faisal Subzwari stated that he had previously travelled to the UAE under similar arrangements and was expecting the current visit to be a brief and routine trip. However, the unexpected issue at the airport reportedly created confusion regarding the latest travel requirements and the documentation now being sought from certain categories of travellers, including official passport holders.
The incident has triggered wider discussion on social media and within political circles about changing Pakistan–UAE travel protocols, visa verification systems, and the evolving entry requirements being implemented by Emirati authorities. Questions have also been raised regarding whether new regulations or stricter clearance procedures are being applied to diplomatic and official passport holders travelling to the UAE.
Following the incident, Senator Faisal Subzwari reportedly contacted the relevant Pakistani authorities and raised the matter for further clarification. Officials are expected to review the situation and determine whether any additional guidance or updated procedures need to be communicated to travellers heading to the UAE.
