AirSial to Launch Its First-Ever Flight to Skardu on June 1

AirSial is set to launch its first passenger flight to Skardu on Monday, May 18, 2026, marking an important step in improving air connectivity between Karachi and the breathtaking Gilgit-Baltistan region. The inaugural flight is expected to include a senior federal government official, highlighting the significance of the new route for tourism and regional development.

The direct service will provide travelers with a faster, easier, and more comfortable way to reach Skardu, one of Pakistan’s most popular tourist destinations. Famous for its stunning mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and adventure tourism opportunities, Skardu attracts thousands of local and international visitors every year. However, travel to the region has often been challenging due to difficult road conditions, long travel times, and weather-related disruptions.

With the launch of this new route, passengers from Karachi will now have improved access to the scenic northern areas without the need for lengthy road journeys or multiple connecting flights. The development is also expected to benefit residents of Gilgit-Baltistan by improving mobility and boosting economic activity in the region.

According to AirSial, the new Skardu service is part of the airline’s efforts to support tourism growth and strengthen domestic connectivity across Pakistan. The airline believes that easier access to northern destinations will encourage more travelers to explore the natural beauty and cultural attractions of Gilgit-Baltistan.

AirSial further stated that flight operations on the route may be expanded in the future depending on passenger demand and travel trends. The move is being welcomed by tourism stakeholders and travelers, who see the new service as a positive step toward promoting tourism and regional development in Pakistan’s northern areas.
