End of an Era! Faisalabad’s Historic Minerva Club Closes After 91 Years

A historic landmark in Faisalabad has officially reached the end of its journey as the renowned Minerva Club, established in 1935, has been permanently closed. For decades, the club remained one of the city’s most prominent social and recreational institutions, holding significant cultural and historical value for generations of residents.

According to officials, the district administration has successfully reclaimed approximately 28 kanals of government-owned land that was associated with the club. The land is estimated to be worth nearly Rs. 40 billion, making it one of the most valuable properties in the area.

Authorities confirmed that the entire property has now been brought back under government control following the completion of legal and administrative procedures. The development marks the conclusion of a long-standing chapter in Faisalabad’s history, bringing an end to an institution that had been part of the city’s identity for more than nine decades.

The closure of Minerva Club is being viewed as a significant moment for the city, as one of Faisalabad’s oldest and most recognizable establishments officially ceases operations while the reclaimed land returns to state ownership.
