Karachi has a new flyover to help ease heavy traffic. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah officially opened the Azeempura Flyover on June 15, 2026. The project, built by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), cost about Rs. 1.56 billion and was finished in only 90 days.
Work started on March 8, 2026, and ended on June 8, beating the 100-day target by 10 days. The flyover connects key areas, including Shahrah-i-Bhutto, Shah Faisal Colony, Sharea Faisal, and Jinnah International Airport. It features a 700-metre dual carriageway flyover and a 1,255-metre main carriageway with extra roads at ground level.
This new structure will reduce congestion at one of Karachi’s busiest spots. Commuters traveling to Korangi, Malir, and the airport will now enjoy smoother and faster journeys. Officials say it marks a big step in fixing the city’s traffic problems.
At the inauguration, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker Awais Qadir Shah, and Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab joined the Chief Minister. Mayor Wahab praised the project as part of efforts to improve urban infrastructure and public services.
The quick completion shows what good planning and hard work can achieve. Residents hope more such projects will follow to make daily travel in Karachi easier and safer. This flyover is a welcome relief for thousands of daily commuters.
