Big Relief! PM Shehbaz Confirms Major Reduction in Petrol Prices Today

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the government will transfer the benefits of falling international oil prices to the public through a significant reduction in petroleum prices.

Speaking in the National Assembly, the prime minister stated that providing relief to citizens remains a priority and that the government is closely monitoring developments in global energy markets. He said that as international crude oil prices continue to decline, consumers in Pakistan should also benefit from the change.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, a major reduction in petrol prices is expected to be announced later in the day. The move is aimed at easing financial pressure on households and businesses that have been affected by rising living and transportation costs.

The prime minister also linked the positive trend in oil prices to recent improvements in the regional situation. He noted that the ceasefire and easing of tensions have contributed to greater stability, helping reduce uncertainty in international energy markets.

He said that lower oil prices are a positive sign for the economy and could support growth by reducing fuel and transportation expenses. Economists often view declining energy costs as beneficial for both consumers and businesses, particularly in countries that rely heavily on imported fuel.

Shehbaz Sharif further highlighted the government’s handling of fuel supplies during the recent period of regional uncertainty. He stated that despite concerns about potential disruptions, Pakistan successfully maintained fuel availability across the country and avoided major shortages.

The expected reduction in petroleum prices has generated optimism among consumers, many of whom have been calling for relief amid inflation and higher living expenses.

Officials believe that lower fuel prices could have a wider impact on the economy by reducing transportation costs and helping ease pressure on prices of goods and services, providing broader relief to the public.
