Shifa International Hospitals in Islamabad has achieved a historic global milestone. It has become the first hospital in the world to earn Joint Commission International (JCI) Clinical Care Programme Certification for both Acute Ischemic Stroke and Acute Coronary Syndrome care at the same time.
This special recognition came after detailed checks by JCI experts. They examined every step of patient care, from fast emergency response and correct diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, and long-term support. The hospital met the highest international standards for patient safety and quality healthcare.
Only five other hospitals worldwide hold either of these two certifications alone. Shifa is the only one to hold both together. This achievement also makes history for Pakistan. Shifa is now the first hospital in the country to receive both JCI certifications in stroke and heart care.
Hospital leaders called it a proud moment for the entire team of doctors, nurses, and support staff. It builds on Shifa’s recent JCI accreditation as an Academic Medical Center.
These certifications show Shifa’s strong focus on evidence-based care for two major health problems, stroke and heart attacks, that cause many deaths and disabilities around the world.
