Pakistani Babies in US to Automatically Receive US Citizenship

Children born to Pakistani parents on United States soil automatically receive US citizenship at birth under the country’s long-standing birthright citizenship principle, regardless of their parents’ nationality or immigration status.

This constitutional provision grants eligible newborns the same rights and protections as any other US citizen.

The policy continues to apply to babies born in the United States, allowing them to obtain a US passport and enjoy the benefits of citizenship.

However, while the child becomes a US citizen by birth, the parents do not automatically receive US citizenship or permanent residency through the birth of their child and must continue to follow US immigration laws separately.
