The Pakistan Cricket Board’s Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, has said that Pakistan is preparing a new generation of fast bowlers who can bowl at speeds of more than 150 kilometres per hour. He believes that three to four young pacers could make their international debut during the next cricket season.
Speaking about the country’s emerging talent, Aaqib Javed said several young bowlers have shown impressive pace and potential. He mentioned Ubaid Shah, Ali Raza, Subhan, Abuzar, Razaullah, and Qayyum Khan from Jhang as some of the players being closely monitored.
According to him, Qayyum Khan has already bowled above the 150kph mark, showing his ability to compete at the highest level.
Aaqib said Pakistan has always been known for producing world-class fast bowlers, and genuine pace has been an important part of the country’s cricketing identity. He expressed confidence that the new generation of bowlers can continue this tradition and strengthen Pakistan’s bowling attack in the years ahead.
He also highlighted the importance of proper training, fitness, and modern coaching in helping young players reach international standards. The High Performance Centre continues to focus on developing talented cricketers through advanced training programmes and regular performance assessments.
Talking about leadership in cricket, Aaqib Javed said a captain should be judged by the team’s results, tactical decisions, and overall progress rather than by individual performances alone. He believes strong leadership and teamwork are essential for long-term success.
The Pakistan Cricket Board remains focused on building a strong future by investing in young talent. Officials hope these fast bowlers will become valuable members of the national team and help Pakistan achieve success in international cricket over the coming years.
