Hajj Becomes Rs. 1 Lac More Expensive for Next Year, Reaches Rs. 13 Lac

Pakistan’s official Hajj packages are expected to become more expensive in 2027, with preliminary estimates indicating an increase in the cost of both the short and long-duration packages.

According to initial projections, the 20–22 day short Hajj package could cost around Rs. 1.3 million, representing an increase of nearly Rs. 100,000 compared to last year’s price.

The traditional 40-day Hajj package is also expected to see a price hike, with its estimated cost reaching approximately Rs. 1.2 million, an increase of around Rs. 50,000.

The revised prices are primarily linked to rising operational expenses, accommodation, transportation, and other arrangements associated with the annual pilgrimage.

To ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims, the Ministry of Religious Affairs is planning to introduce a two-installment payment system for the 2027 Hajj scheme.

Under the proposed plan, applicants will be able to pay the total package cost in two equal installments of roughly Rs. 600,000 each, making it more manageable for families preparing for the pilgrimage.

The final Hajj package prices and payment schedule are expected to be officially announced once the relevant authorities complete the approval process.

Further details regarding the application procedure, quotas, and other arrangements will also be released alongside the official Hajj policy for 2027.
