Rs. 100 for Cars! NHA Increases Toll Tax on GT Road & Motorways

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced new toll tax rates for national highways, motorways, and expressways across Pakistan. The revised charges came into effect on July 10, 2026, and apply to vehicles using the country’s major road network.

According to the updated schedule, the toll fee for cars traveling on National Highways, including the GT Road, has been increased to Rs. 100. The new rates also apply to several major motorways, including the M-1, M-3, M-4, M-5, M-14, E-35, Kohat Tunnel, and E-75.

Officials said that toll charges have been revised for all categories of vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks, and other commercial transport. The updated tariff will be collected at toll plazas located on national highways, motorways, and expressways throughout the country.

The National Highway Authority is responsible for managing and maintaining Pakistan’s road infrastructure.

Toll taxes collected from road users help support the maintenance, repair, and improvement of highways, bridges, tunnels, and motorway facilities. These funds are also used to enhance road safety and ensure better travel conditions for commuters.

Drivers using the affected routes are advised to check the revised toll rates before starting their journeys. Transport companies and commercial vehicle operators may also need to consider the updated charges when planning travel and logistics.

The revised toll schedule applies nationwide and affects vehicles traveling on Pakistan’s major road network. Officials say the changes are part of the NHA’s regular review of toll charges to support road maintenance and infrastructure development.

Motorists are encouraged to follow traffic rules, use designated toll lanes, and cooperate with toll plaza staff to ensure smooth traffic flow. The new toll rates are now in effect and will apply to all eligible vehicles using the country’s highways and motorways.
